Home might be a scary place to be at times
There might be shouting and crying, you might see your mum being really upset. Maybe you see scary and bad things happening and people you love getting hurt. Maybe these scary and bad things happen to you and your brothers and sisters too.
You may feel…
Sad
Lonely
Angry
Worried
It’s important to know that what’s happening isn’t your fault, and that there are adults out there who understand and might be able to help you and your mum, and keep you safe. Remember: You have a right to feel safe all of the time.
We can help you.
There are services especially for children who have these experiences, run by women near where you live. They are called Women’s Aid groups. They offer help for women, children and young people. The women who work there understand what you’re going through and might be able to keep you safe and help you feel better about what has happened. Remember: There is nothing so awful (or so small) that we cannot talk about it with someone.
Programmes for Children & Young People
