Preparing to Leave

Our refuge employs a team of highly skilled and trained staff to respond to the needs of women who have experienced domestic abuse.

Our refuge is for single women and women with children.

Many women stay in refuges more than once as part of the process of ending a relationship with an abusive partner. Refuge addresses are kept confidential to protect women’s safety. Women choose whether they wish to stay in a refuge close to their home or further away.

Refuge also provides a place of safety for children and their mummies. Within refuge our children’s team provide one to one support to children around their feelings, help them increase their feelings of safety and we also plan a range of activities to encourage the children to have fun and express themselves.
